The Adamas Biotechnology Club has crossed its first milestone and bagged the first position in the Interschool Tech Fest, Techjagran 2019 organised by Adamas University on November 29, 2019. The team of 11 includes Anwesha Bose, Shaurav Bhattacharyya, Aniket Das, Srijani Basak, Soumyajit Chandra, Saheli Shabnam, Arkadipta Das, Sutrishna Ghosh, Ananya Chakraborty, Rahul Dutta, Rituja Mahalanobish under mentorship of Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh (Faculty, School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology) had designed an integrated and sustainable way to utilise the organic kitchen wastes, dry leaves and plant or animal excretory as well as harvesting rainwater along with hydroponics system (soil less agriculture). The project was appreciated immensely by the judges’ panel and have also gained the appreciation of the honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Madhusudan Chakraborty as well as other guests and dignitaries present. The club, which is just in its infancy is determined to set such milestones and expands its horizon in the near future.
