School of Life Science & Biotechnology, Adamas University, Kolkata, is going to organize an international conference BioNext 2023 on 4th to 6th October 2023 that aims to national and international exposure and reach. The objective of this yearly conference series is to disseminate the recent findings in the domain of Life Sciences and Biotechnology to accentuate health, environmental and agricultural research with an interdisciplinary approach. Within its capacity, BioNext 2023 also serves as a platform for industry-academia interaction and for developing research and academic collaboration. For this year’s edition, the conference focuses on ‘Translational Research towards attaining “Good Health & Well Being” (Sustainable Development Goals-3).

The meeting also aims for expert-led dedicated sessions to prioritize and allocate methods, and measures for testing hypotheses related to modern biology and their direct application. Parallel to cutting-edge research, this conference series has been designed to achieve two fundamental goals. One, generate research, policy, and practice priorities to benchmark implementation mechanisms; and two, actively disseminate the research findings to the practice audiences. To achieve the goals the expert-advisory panel represents a near-perfect blending of experienced mentors and enthusiastic young entrepreneurs who would address a target population of students, research fellows, academic staff, and industry aspirants. The specific objectives of BioNext-2023 include:

  1. Healthcare Access and Universal Health Coverage: One of the primary themes of SDG 3 is to ensure that everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare services. This involves striving for universal health coverage, where people can receive necessary medical services without facing financial hardship.
  2. Maternal and Child Health: SDG 3 aims to reduce maternal mortality and improve the health of newborns, infants, and children. This includes promoting safe childbirth practices, improving nutrition, and providing access to essential healthcare services for mothers and children.
  3. Infectious Diseases and Epidemic Control: The goal addresses the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical diseases. It also emphasizes the need to build strong healthcare systems that can effectively respond to epidemic outbreaks and health emergencies.
  4. Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): SDG 3 focuses on reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and respiratory diseases. Prevention, early detection, and management of these diseases are essential components of this theme.
  5. Mental Health and Well-being: Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being. SDG 3 aims to promote mental health, raise awareness about mental health issues, and ensure that people have access to appropriate mental healthcare services.
  6. Substance Abuse and Addiction: Addressing substance abuse, including drug and alcohol addiction, is another aspect of SDG 3. The goal is to prevent and treat substance abuse disorders and reduce their negative impact on individuals and societies.
  7. Environmental Health: Environmental factors play a significant role in public health. This theme involves addressing issues related to air and water pollution, sanitation, and other environmental factors that can impact health.
  8. Healthcare Infrastructure and Workforce: Developing robust healthcare infrastructure and a skilled healthcare workforce is vital to achieving SDG 3. This includes building and maintaining healthcare facilities, training healthcare professionals, and ensuring equitable distribution of healthcare services.
  9. Health Research and Innovation: Advancements in medical research and innovation are crucial for improving healthcare outcomes. SDG 3 emphasizes the importance of research, technology, and innovation in finding new solutions to health challenges.
  10. Global Health Partnerships: Collaboration between countries, organizations, and stakeholders is essential to address global health challenges. SDG 3 encourages international cooperation to enhance healthcare systems, share best practices, and support health initiatives in developing countries.

This conference intends to delineate practices and roles of the scientific community in acquisition of ever-evolving research ideologies and ethical concerns. The conference will be conducted in hybrid mode. The speakers’ list comprises eminent personalities representing diverse domains of biological sciences like structural biology, plant biotechnology, systems biology, neurobiology, cancer biology, and translational medicine from Institutes and Universities of national and international repute and ~40% speakers from eminent institutes abroad (USA, UK, Israel, Korea etc). Session dedicated to industry will host experts from sectors of life science, pharma, and diagnostics. There will also be sessions for young researchers to present their work and also for networking.

Abstracts (one single paragraph) containing Original Research Works are invited for Poster Sessions within 250 words including  Background, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion in Times New Roman and 12 font. Underline Presenting Author’s Name and include Email-ID of both presenting and the corresponding author (if any). All abstracts must be in English. Do not use abbreviations, references or schematic diagrams. Post your abstracts together with the Registration Form attached in Registration-Abstract Page. Don’t send abstracts via mail.
