Potential collaboration between School of Life Science and Biotechnology with MEGAA MODA Pvt.

With a vision to bridge the gap between academia and industry, a team of six faculty members from School of Life Science and Biotechnology, Adamas University visited the MEGAA MODA Private Limited (MMPL) at Amta, Howrah during July 1-3, 2019. MEGAA MODA is a private limited company involved into processing, packaging and exporting of Shrimps and Prawns. The company has established a name in the world market by its brand “MEGAA” (a registered brand). The company is recognized as two star export house under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India. Adamas University is continuously working on developing highly qualified industry ready human resources. All the faculty members during the visit gained ample knowledge about different quality assurance (QA) & quality control (QC) measures as well as production workflows related to the industry. The visit has broadened the outlook of faculty members which will in future help in imparting quality enhancement for professional development. A fruitful discussion between the faculty team and the Director S. Ramalingam about student internship and research opportunities opened the gateway to future University Industry collaboration.
