Dr. Abinit Saha completed his Bachelor degree from Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur with Zoology (Hons.). He secured 2nd rank in B.Sc Zoology (Hons.) from University of Calcutta. He completed his Master degree in Zoology with specialization in Endocrinology from University of Calcutta. He obtained “Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)” from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India in 2008. In the same year, he joined to Bose Institute, India, one of the best premier research institutes for his doctoral program. He started his Ph.D. work in 2008 at the Department of Biochemistry, Bose Institute and was awarded Ph.D. degree in 2016 from University of Calcutta in Biotechnology. After getting his Ph.D. degree Dr. Saha joined Adamas University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology in 2016.
His research interests span over several topics in Biochemistry and Biotechnology e.g., transcription biology; Prokaryotic Gene Regulation; Protein-nucleic acid interactions; cyclic AMP signalling in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and Macromolecular crystallography.
He has published his doctoral work in reputed international journals and also presented his work in various national and international conferences. He has also done some collaborative research work with other eminent faculty members from Bose Institute.
Dr. Saha also worked as Project Associate from July 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014 to assist in writing the book entitled “The History of Science in India, Volume VIII, Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Physics and Molecular Biology” under the guidance of Prof. N.C. Mondal and Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, sponsored by the National Academy of Science, India, Allahabad, Govt. of India.
Dr. Saha received K.S .RAO Memorial Award and Teachers’ Council Award from Vivekanada College, Thakurpukur for securing highest marks in B. Sc. (Zoology Hons).
