The School of Life Science and Biotechnology organized a two-week orientation program from July 16-30, 2019 for its newly admitted students of the academic session 2019-20. The orientation program was designed to make the new students aware about the rules and regulations of the University, School of Life Science and Biotechnology and various Departments under the School. A wide variety of cultural and academic programs was organized for the new students in the program to make them familiar about the university and to build teamwork among students. The students were instructed about choice-based credit system, examination structure, academic discipline, lab safety, career prospects and many other aspects of the university. A national seminar was also held on July 23, 2019 titled “Interface of Microbiology and Medicine” for the newly enrolled students. Furthermore, a talent hunt was also arranged which included participation of students in various cultural activities such as photography, quiz, extempore, debate, dance, singing and recitation. Dr. Arindam Mitra and Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh were the coordinators of the orientation program. The participation and involvement of all faculty members of the School and students in this program not only developed a strong bond between faculty members and new students but also built a team spirit among the students.
