Dr. Moumita Gangopadhyay, has successful track record comprising experience and commitment in research, teaching and industry in basic and applied plant science. After completing her graduation in Botany Honors from Serampore College of the University of Calcutta, Dr. Gangopadhyay did her M.Sc in Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from the University of Calcutta and M. Tech in Biotechnology (specialization in Plant Molecular Biotechnology) from Jadavpur University. She successfully completed PhD (through NET) in medicinal plant biotechnology, Department of Botany from Bose Institute, Kolkata, India in 2009. She has been awarded prestigious DAAD (Germany) and Endeavour (Australia) fellowships. Apart from 4 years post doctoral research experience (India and abroad) Dr. Gangopadhyay has also experience in teaching, project supervision at University level and industrial R & D (plant biotechnology) as staff scientist. She has published 25 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals (cumulative impact factor: 51.469; over 400 citations). Her research goal is to design of plant systems for sustainable production of value added commercial products and her career goal is to share her expertise for developing skilled manpower to serve for the nation.
